Karen was born and raised in Gunnedah. She attended primary school at Baan Baa and high school in Tamworth. She graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Diploma of Hospital Pharmacy from the University of Sydney. She is currently studying Diploma in Wound Care and is currently a Branch Committee Member in the NSW Pharmacy Guild.
Karen worked at Prince Henry Hospital Sydney in renal and intensive care units, as a locum pharmacist in Forbes, Quirindi and Wee Waa before going into business in Gunnedah in 1992. She took over the business in 1996 and purchased a second pharmacy in 2000, merging these 2 pharmacies in 2001. Karen then purchased Narrabri Pharmacy in 2009.
Karen is proud to have been awarded Soul Pattinson Pharmacy of the year in 2002. She also became a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia in 2019.
Outside of the pharmacy, Karen loves spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys playing sports such as tennis, golf, paddle boarding, and water skiing
